We are NIJA — a creative partnership between Imani and David. Together, we write and produce a genre-blurring fusion of dark R&B, rhythmic Afrobeats, and modern Hip-Hop & Rap.

Our music thrives on pure, chaotic contrast blending soulful, atmospheric vocal layers with heavy low-ends and syncopated club rhythms. It’s a delicate balance, and when we aren't locking ourselves in the studio tweaking frequencies, we are teaming up with forward-thinking DJs like DJ Aria to bring that sound straight to live dance floors.

Of course, no studio session is complete without our self-appointed executive producer: a dog named Copper. Copper has a deeply passionate habit of trying to belt out vocals at the top of his lungs the exact second a new track starts playing, because it is the noise that completely sets him off. For the sake of everyone's eardrums and the structural integrity of our audio gear, he has officially been banned from the DJ decks and relegated to moral support duty at a safe, non-howling distance.
